With CalDAV you can store your calendars on Runbox’ servers using calendar apps on your computer or smart phone.

To use Runbox CalDAV, set up a new account in your Calendar client with your Runbox username and password and dav.runbox.com as Server Address.

Note: It is currently not possible to share calendars with other people, or publish them publicly.

Below you will find setup instructions for recommended calendar clients.

OS X Calendar

  1. Go to Calendar > Add Account… > Add CalDAV Account…
  2. Select Account Type: Manual
  3. Username: Enter your Runbox username.
    • If you use your own domain name, the username format is you@nulldomainyouown.tld.
  4. Password: Enter your Runbox password.
  5. Server Address: Enter https://dav.runbox.com/
    • Note: Include the trailing slash.

Usage notes

  • Click View > Refresh Calendars to see changes made on the server by other clients, including alerts.

Thunderbird Lightning

Because Lightning is only a subscription service it can’t discover the addresses to the calendars by itself. Therefore you first need to use a browser to log into the CalDAV service and discover the addresses which you can then put into Lightning.

  1. Go to https://dav.runbox.com in a web browser and enter your Runbox username and password when prompted. The username format is username@nulldomain.tld.
  2. Click the calendars link under the Nodes heading.
  3. On the next screen, click the numeric link under Nodes (this is your account’s UID or unique identifier).
  4. On the following screen, you should see a number of links. Two of these will be called Home and Work and these correspond to the calendars named Home and Work that you see in Runbox 7. Click one of the links.
  5. Copy the entire URL from your browser’s address bar.
  6. Open Lightning.
  7. Right-click in the left pane in Calendar
  8. Click New Calendar…
  9. Select On the Network and click Continue.
  10. Select CalDAV.
  11. In the Username field, enter your Runbox username.
  12. In the Location field, paste the URL you copied in step 5.
  13. Click Continue.
  14. Enter your Runbox username and password again.
    • If you use your own domain name, the username format is you@nulldomainyouown.tld.

Your Runbox calendar should now be shown in the left pane.

You may repeat steps 4-13 for other calendars you wish to add.

To extend Outlook with CalDAV functionality you can use the Outlook CalDav Synchronizer plugin. Please follow the instructions there to install and set up the plugin.
