Checking existing IMAP settings
By following the steps below you can find out what settings you are using for accessing your Runbox email account. In the settings it should be stated whether access is via POP or IMAP. This will also be indicated by the port number being used. 995 or 110 for POP and 993 or 143 for IMAP.
Thunderbird
- Open Thunderbird and go to Tools > Account Settings
- Find your account in the left panel and click on Server Settings
- Server Name will be displayed on the right
- Click on Advanced… which is further down the screen
- IMAP server directory will be shown at the top of the window
- Personal namespace will be shown lower down the window
Apple Mail
- Open Apple Mail and go to Mail > Preferences and then select the Accounts tab
- Find your account in the left panel and make sure the Account Information tab opposite is highlighted
- Incoming Mail Server setting will be shown
- Now click on the Advanced tab
- IMAP Path Prefix will be shown
Outlook 2016 for Windows
- Open Outlook and go to File > Account Settings
- Select your account and then click Change
- Incoming Mail Server should be shown
- Click on More Settings and choose the Advanced tab
- Check the Root Folder Path setting
Outlook for Mac
- Open Outlook and go to Tools > Accounts
- Select your account from the left panel
- Incoming Server should be shown
- Click on Advanced…
- Check the IMAP Root Folder setting
Windows Live Mail
- Open Windows Live Mail and click on your Runbox account in the left column to highlight the name of the account
- Go to the Accounts tab and then click Properties
- A window will open with tabs, click on the Servers tab
- Check the Incoming Mail (IMAP) server setting
- Click on the IMAP tab and check the Root folder path setting
iPhone and iPad
- Open the settings for your Runbox account by going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Runbox > Account (your email address)
- Check the Incoming Mail Server setting
- Tap Advanced at the bottom of the screen
- Check the IMAP Path Prefix
